The Namsangol Hanok Village was established as a sightseeing spot at the foot of Namsan Mountain, Seoul, in accordance with the "Project to find the original appearance of Namsan" and opened in April, 1998

Korean traditional hanok houses including the house of Kim chun-yeong, a military officer in Samcheong-dong, which is a folklore material number 8 in the whole 79,934m² area, 5 traditional Hanok houses, a traditional craft exhibition hall, Cheonwoogak Gwangjang-dong, traditional garden and Seoul millennium time capsule plaza etc. are relocated. The traditional houses which are throughout Seoul were restored.

The traditional garden in the Hanok Village is made by reproducing the place where our ancestors built the pavilion and used to live in a taste for the arts. It is a good place to walk and enjoy the nature with valley, pavilion and pond in the city center. There is a teahouse where you can drink traditional tea, and Hanok Cafe. It is good place to have a conversation. You can also stop by the souvenir shop and see the various accessories. You can pose for a photograph wearing Korean traditional clothes by a professional photographer(charged service), see a straw craft demonstration or listen to the explanation by a Traditional cultural heritage commentator
